Manage or cancel your subscription

Change your plan, update your card, or cancel from one place. Where you do it depends on your store: Shopify merchants manage billing in Shopify, Etsy-only merchants use the Stripe billing portal.

This guide shows you how to change your plan, update your payment card, or cancel your Composerie subscription. The place you do it depends on the store you sell on, so we cover both. This is for the person who handles billing for your organization.

Where you manage billing

Composerie follows the platform your store is connected to. That means the place you manage billing is not always inside Composerie.

If your store runs on Shopify, your Composerie subscription is charged on your Shopify invoice. You change or cancel the plan in your Shopify admin, not in Composerie. The billing page shows a note that reads “Billing managed through Shopify” and a Manage in Shopify button.

If you sell on Etsy only, billing runs through Composerie using Stripe. You manage it in the Stripe billing portal, which you open from the billing page with the Manage plan button.

To open billing settings at all, you need the owner role for your organization. If you do not see the billing page, ask an owner to make the changes, or review team and roles.

Etsy-only accounts see a Manage plan button that opens the Stripe billing portal.
Shopify-billed accounts see a note and a Manage in Shopify button instead.

Update your card or change your plan

Follow the path that matches your store.

Open Settings, then Billing

In the Composerie dashboard, go to Settings and select Billing. The Current plan section is at the top.

Stripe billing: open the portal

Click Manage plan in the Current plan header, or scroll to the Payment method section and click Manage payment method. Either button opens the Stripe billing portal in a new tab. There you can update your card and view your plan details.

The Payment method section at the bottom of the page opens the same Stripe portal.
The Stripe portal holds your card and subscription controls.

Shopify billing: open your Shopify admin

Click Manage in Shopify. This opens your Shopify admin in a new tab, where you adjust the plan. Your payment method also lives there, so use the same button to update your card.

Come back to Composerie

Changes take effect through the provider you used: Stripe for the portal, Shopify for the admin. Once they process, the new plan and status show on the Composerie billing page. If the page looks out of date, refresh it.

To understand what the plan includes before you change it, see pricing and the Growth plan. For copies of past charges, see invoices and receipts.

Cancel your subscription

How you cancel matches how you are billed.

If your store runs on Shopify, cancel the app subscription from your Shopify admin. Removing or pausing the plan in Shopify ends the charge on your Shopify invoice.

If you sell on Etsy only, cancel from the Stripe billing portal. Click Manage plan to open the portal, then cancel the subscription there. Your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period, so you keep access until then. While it is winding down, the status on the billing page shows as Cancelling.

Do I lose access the moment I cancel a Stripe plan?

No. The subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period. The status shows as Cancelling until then.

Why is there no cancel button inside Composerie?

Cancelling happens with the provider that charges you. Shopify-billed accounts cancel in the Shopify admin, and Etsy-only accounts cancel in the Stripe portal.

I cannot open the billing page. Why?

Billing settings require the owner role. Ask an organization owner to open it or to make the change for you.
