Connecting your store is the link that makes everything else work. Once Shopify and Composerie are connected, Composerie can sync products and receive eligible order data. This guide is for anyone setting up a new store, and it takes about 30 seconds. You choose the store and authorize the connection inside Shopify, so you stay in control the whole time.
Shopify is the store you connect in Composerie today. The production connection uses Shopify’s hosted install and store picker from start to finish. Composerie does not ask you to type a store domain as a fallback.
Start the connection
You start the connection from the Connect step in onboarding. If you left the step earlier or want to add another store later, open Integrations in the sidebar.
Open the Connect step
Open the step headed “Connect your store”. You will see the Shopify card with a Continue with Shopify button.
Continue to Shopify
Click Continue with Shopify. Composerie hands you to the Shopify-hosted install and store picker. Choose the store you want to connect on Shopify’s own screen.
Review and approve the install
Shopify shows the store, app, and requested access before anything is connected. Review the details, then approve the install in Shopify. If you cancel, Composerie does not connect the store.
Return to Composerie
Shopify sends you back to Composerie after approval. Composerie verifies the callback and the selected store before showing the connection as active.
Review the permissions you grant
Before you leave Composerie, the Connect step previews the access used for the core integration under What we’ll access: reading products and variants, publishing personalized products, reading incoming orders, and reading the customer details attached to those orders. Expand the list to read each line.
Shopify’s install screen is the authoritative list of permissions requested for your store. Product access supports catalog sync and publishing; order and customer access supports eligible order workflows. Granting access does not by itself publish a product, route an order, or prove that a provider accepted it. You can read more about the integration in install the Shopify app.
To finish, approve the request on Shopify’s own screen. Shopify can ask you to approve again after a reinstall or when the app needs changed access.
Confirm the store is connected
After Shopify approves and Composerie verifies the callback, the connected store appears with its shop name on the left and its domain on the right, next to a green check. That green check is your sign that Composerie recorded the active connection.
Click “Continue” to move on. The next step is switching on the customizer in your theme, so shoppers can start personalizing.
If verification fails, you will see an error message on the Connect step instead of a green check. Retry with Continue with Shopify. If Shopify install is not configured or cannot be reached, contact support; do not send a store domain through another form.
Do I need to type my myshopify.com domain?
No. The production flow uses Shopify's hosted store picker. Choose the store in Shopify; Composerie does not provide a manual domain fallback.
What if the Shopify handoff is unavailable?
Composerie keeps the store disconnected and shows an error. Retry from the Connect step or contact support; there is no manual typed-domain route.
Can I connect more than one store?
Yes. Connect your first store now, then add more later from the dashboard.
How long does the connection last?
It stays connected until the app is disconnected or uninstalled, or Shopify requires reauthorization after an access change.
Next: switch on the customizer in your theme so shoppers can personalize your products.
