This guide tells you which browsers and devices the Composerie customizer runs on. It is for any merchant whose shopper reports a broken or missing customizer, and who wants to rule out the browser before digging deeper. The short version: a current browser on almost any device works fine.

Supported browsers

Use a current version of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge. Those four cover almost every shopper, and Composerie is built and tested against their recent releases.

The customizer is not a plain web page. It uses modern browser features called Web Components and Shadow DOM, and it draws every design on a live canvas inside the page. Those features need an up-to-date browser. A very old browser cannot run the canvas, so the customizer can look broken, fail to load, or freeze.

If a shopper hits a problem, the first fix is the browser. Ask them to update to the latest version, or open the product in one of the four supported browsers instead. That single step clears most reports that look like a bug.

Phones and tablets

The customizer works on phones and tablets, and it supports touch editing. A shopper can tap to select, drag to move, and pinch the same way they would in any mobile app. There is no separate mobile version to switch on. The same customizer adapts to the screen.

Appearance follows the device. The customizer is set to detect the store’s light or dark preference automatically, so it matches the phone or tablet without any setting from you.

One detail worth knowing: the storefront-fit layout tools (the toggles that widen the customizer column on a tight theme) apply on desktop only. Mobile is left untouched, because phone layouts already give the customizer the full width it needs.
